With our Pride & Joy programme we constantly strive to bring you the best possible holiday experience. We’ve listened to your feedback and are proud to introduce a range of improvements across the fleet and to the embarkation service at Southampton.

For two years we have been working hard to improve the service we offer to make sure your holiday experience is smooth and as effortless as possible – from the minute you arrive to the moment you depart. Thanks to our Pride & Joy programme. We’ve listened to your feedback and are delighted to bring you a range of improvements.

Mayflower Terminal, Southampton

We’ve invested heavily in our P&O Cruises Southampton terminals  to make sure you can get on board and start your holiday quickly and easily. Mayflower Terminal is the latest terminal to see significant improvements.

A larger security area has been designed to improve boarding times and minimise queuing, in addition to more check-in desks to speed up the check-in process times by an anticipated 35%. Regular guests will also be able to enjoy a new loyalty area in the terminal.

Saturday 25th April marked the official opening of Mayflower Cruise Terminal and was opened by a top tier member of the P&O Cruises Peninsular Club, Michele Charles from Hertfordshire.

Luggage services

To improve the speed and efficiency of our luggage services, we have introduced an enhanced luggage label system and new equipment and signage to help you and our staff at the start and the end of your cruise.

Luggage labels have been redesigned to affix to luggage more easily and help us deliver your luggage to your cabin more quickly.

Our luggage operations system has been reworked to enable faster luggage delivery from kerb to cabin and to reduce instances of lost or damaged luggage. Our new delivery equipment on the quayside and on board is helping to speed up the process, too.

New, improved signage will help you retrieve your luggage at the end of your holiday, helping you get home speedily.

Buffet dining

We’ve introduced a range of improvements to make sure you have a greater choice of superior quality in a more attractive environment across the fleet.

The following improvements have been made to the food offer:

  • Individual potted salads with better presentation and consistent quality
  • Hot savoury dishes cooked before your eyes at our wok station to add fresh drama to your dishes
  • An improved carvery joint to meet with popular demand
  • New and improved pasta dishes on a daily basis
  • A new vegetarian dahl at the curry station, with naan breads, poppadoms and chutney
  • A changing menu giving a greater variety of desserts.

We’ve also had great feedback from Britannia's guests on the counter map layout and the way in which it helps them to find what they’d like more easily. Where possible, we'll be reflecting this on the rest of the fleet in the coming months.
