The below information is based on booking a cruise online.
Information required:
You will need the following information in order to successfully book online.
Step 1: Personal details
Here we ask the lead passenger on any booking for their name and date of birth, plus the names and dates of birth of anyone travelling on the same booking.
Step 2: Pricing
Here we ask the lead passenger on any booking to confirm the cruise fare(s) shown for their chosen holiday, and select whether they require holiday insurance supplied by P&O Cruises, or whether the lead passenger and those on his/her booking will be arranging their own holiday insurance. Please note you must have insurance to travel.
Step 3: Address
The lead passenger will need to supply their current address, and that of those additional passengers travelling on the booking. The lead passenger's address will be where we send all tickets and documentation.
Step 4: Passport
Whilst not mandatory at time of booking, we do allow the lead passenger to enter his/her passport details along with those additional passengers on the booking. Do not worry if you don't have your passport details to hand at this stage, as you can provide these at a later date before departure online using the Cruise Personaliser.
Step 4: Cabin
Here we ask the lead passenger to select his/her desired cabin. Currently we can sell only one cabin per booking, for group bookings please phone 0845 3 555 333.
When choosing a cabin, you can either choose from the six best available positions on the ship which we automatically display for you, or if you know from the deck plan which cabin you would like to book, type the details into the "Cabin number" box. If it's available we'll hold it for you - if not, we'll ask you to choose another.
Sometimes this page will say only "Guarantee" cabins available. This means that you're booking a cabin at a certain grade, but do not yet know the cabin number. The cabin number will be allocated closer to departure. You'll have a firm reservation and will definitely receive the grade booked. When we allocate the cabin number you can rest assured you will be given a cabin of the type you have booked, or, in some instances, of a higher price, though it may be situated on a different deck to that shown on the deck plan for the grade guaranteed.
We also allow the lead passenger to select dining preferences such as 1st or 2nd sitting in the restaurant, and the size of table you would like to sit on.Where "Waitlist" is stated, this means that the sitting cannot be guaranteed and is a request only. If you are on a waitlist your dining arrangements will not be confirmed until you arrive on board. Details of sitting and table number will be in your cabin upon arrival.
Step 6: Payment
Here we invite the lead passenger to enter their cedit card details. For payment of your holiday we accept Mastercard, VISA, American Express and Diner Club credit cards. We won't debit your credit card until you've had a chance to review your booking in full and confirm that you're happy with it. Once you're happy with everything, your credit card details will be forwarded to our payment systems in the USA. Your card number and expiry date will not be stored on any system in the UK and will be deleted in the USA once payment has been completed. If you are within 56 days of your cruise holiday's departure date we will take a 10% deposit, of which the remainder will be asked for before you sail, or you can opt to allow the same card used for the deposit to be charged the outstanding amount at the later date. If you are booking your holiday within 56 days of its departure date, you will be required to pay the full sum at time of booking.
The number you need to enter here is the long 16 digit number in the middle of your card.
Step 7: Summary
Once you have provided your payment details, the next step is to view all the information you have provided so far, check you are happy with it, supply an email address to which a confirmation will be sent automatically, and a telephone number where we can reach you. Before clicking the final 'Book now' button you are required to accept our booking conditions.
You're finished!
Congratulations, you have successfully purchased your dream cruise holiday online, and you saved an extra 5% while doing it. This final page will display your six digit booking reference. Please note this down. You will also be receiving an automated confirmation including your booking reference via your email address that you supplied in the previous step.

Now you are booked, why not make the most of your dream holiday by reserving shore excursions online from the comfort of your own home. Whilst here, you can also view a summary of your booking, any flight details (where applicable) and provide all your pre-cruise information such as your passport details, emergency contact, insurance company, etc. All you need to access Cruise Personaliser is your six digit booking reference, and your first name and surname.
