Delightfully remote, deliciously warm - that's the Atlantic in April

Sail from Southampton, heading for the year-round sun of the Canaries, and the Azores, an archipelago of pure adventure. Throw in a stop at Lisbon, and an evening call in floral Madeira, and

Relax at sea on Aurora, before awaking to admire the splendid views of Lisbon as you cruise in along the Tagus River. First of the Canaries is Lanzarote. Discover its spectacular volcanic landscape and Jameos el Agua cave, with its colony of unique white crabs. Gran Canaria’s lively capital, Las Palmas, delighted Christopher Columbus in 1492, and the atmospheric cobbled streets and leafy courtyards still charm.

Next stop is the ‘fair isle’ of La Palma. Santa Cruz is a pretty harbour, easily explored on foot. Then, to Madeira, with an evening call for more time to enjoy this Garden Island. Funchal is a riot of colour with its gardens and flower markets. Take the cable car to the top of Monte for panoramic views.

The largest of the Azores islands, Ponta Delgada has a strong Portuguese influence, from its colonial architecture to its food and wines. Lastly, to Praia da Vitória, with its volcanic landscapes, vineyards inside lava stone enclosures and age-old laurel forests.
