Accessible cabins
All of our accessible (adapted) cabins feature:
- Wide doorways into the cabin and bathroom
- Sufficient floor space for maneuvering a wheelchair or mobility scooter
- Wet room style bathrooms
- Grab rails for shower and toilet
- Pull-down shower seat
- Flush thresholds between bathroom and cabin
- Balcony cabins have ramped access to the balcony.
Arcadia also features a number of partially adapted cabins which have wider doorways and a wheelchair accessible wet room (roll in bathroom). Partially adapted cabins may not have sufficient maneuvering space within the cabin and bathroom. Therefore, partially adapted cabins are not suitable for passengers who are fully confined to a wheelchair or mobility scooter.
Accessible stateroom bathrooms
The accessible cabin bathrooms are wet room style shower rooms with a flush threshold into the stateroom. They have roll in showers that have hand rails and pull down shower seats. There are also grab rails on both sides of the toilet; one is fixed and the other is pull down.
Accessible cabin showers have a non slip floor however, if required, a shower mat can be requested once on board - these are subject to availability. Further information regarding additional mobility equipment that we can provide can be found in the mobility equipment and storage section.
If you have specific requirements we kindly ask that you enquire at the time of booking as we are unable to make any structural changes to the cabin once on board, temporary or otherwise.
If there is something you need to know that isn’t covered on our website, such as location of grab rails, feel free to contact us at accessibility@carnivalukgroup.com
Access around the ship
We want everyone to enjoy the ship to its full potential while staying safe, so here are the key things you need to be aware of:
- The majority of public areas and venues have level or ramped access.
- There are raised door thresholds throughout the ship which need to be navigated with care.
- You may find certain areas of the ship narrower than you are used to.
In the interest of your own safety and that of other guests, mobility scooters and wheelchairs must be driven at a safe speed at all times.
Lifts
Please pay careful attention when backing out of lifts in a mobility scooter/wheelchair as these are often in close proximity to the staircases.
Theatres
We want all of our guests to enjoy theatre performances in comfort. Each theatre has bays or dedicated areas for users of wheelchairs and mobility scooters. There are seats nearby for travelling companions and guests with limited mobility that would prefer a seat that’s easier to access. Each ship has different arrangements for the safe storage of mobility aids during performances. Please talk to the Entertainment team on board for guidance.
