Meet Shivi – our newest P&O Cruises Local Food Hero

The queen of contemporary Caribbean cooking

Shivi, who grew up in Trinidad before moving to New York and Leicestershire, now lives with her young family in London. She has sealed her reputation for exciting Caribbean cooking having written two cookbooks and as resident chef on ITV’s Martin & Roman’s Weekend Best.

Our new Caribbean Local Food Heroes

As one of our Local Food Heroes, Shivi will join José Pizarro and Kjartan Skjelde in bringing destinations to life through authentic recipes in restaurants aboard our ships.

Shivi is passionate about bringing the bold flavours, colourful ingredients and joyful style of Caribbean food to new audiences, while adding personal touches that reflect her own journey.

Why Shivi is delighted to share her vibrant recipes with Arvia’s guests…

"I’m so excited to share my food with Arvia’s guests. It’s my interpretation of the Caribbean dishes that have influenced my life, with some British elements thrown in too. I hope to make the experience as much about limin’ (the Caribbean art of relaxing with friends) as it is about the food." - Shivi Ramoutar

- Shivi Ramoutar, “I’ve been poring over the images of Arvia and can’t wait to experience the luxury and diversity of her. I think I’ll spend a lot of time sitting and eating and gazing out on the gorgeous decks and terraces with a glass of something chilled in my hand. Then there will be a spot of swimming, some time at the spa and a movie in the cinema. Can you tell I’ve spent a lot of time daydreaming about it all?
