For Future Cruise Credits (“FCCs”) that have been accepted by guests following a cancelled cruise: 100% of the monies paid for cruises cancelled by P&O Cruises prior to 1 July 2021 and held as a FCC are protected by ABTA or ATOL, so in the unlikely event of P&O Cruises insolvency, a guest’s money will be refunded under those financial protection arrangements. FCCs issued on or after 1 July 2021 in respect of fly-cruises, where we have issued an ATOL certificate, continue to be bonded by ATOL. Please retain all booking documentation, receipts, confirmation, invoice documents, ATOL Certificate (for fly-cruises) and proof of payment, such as credit card statements. P&O Cruises has also in some circumstances offered an additional amount of FCC as a goodwill gesture, this amount is not protected by ABTA or ATOL. Any FCCs protected by ABTA or ATOL can be redeemed at any time before 30 September 2022 against any new P&O Cruises booking.
Please note any FCCs issued for the cancellation of a cruise only holiday by P&O Cruises on or after 1 July 2021 are not covered by ABTA's scheme of financial protection, although any new booking made using the FCC will be protected up to the amount of the refund due on the original booking. These FCCs can be used at any time, against any new P&O Cruises holiday.
FCCs can be redeemed against any cruise that’s on sale at the time of booking, on any fare type, subject to availability. Where the cost of the new holiday is more than the FCC, guests can simply pay the difference. Guests may use their FCC to upgrade their existing booking or use it to pay for another guest on the same booking as them. Should guests wish to do this they should contact their travel agent or us, if they have booked direct. All new bookings using FCCs will be subject to P&O Cruises Booking Conditions, including our standard cancellation terms. Once a FCC has been applied to a new booking, in the event of a cancellation of a cruise by the guest, any refund will be given in FCC. If it becomes necessary for us to cancel a cruise, guests who had used their FCC for that cruise will be offered the same options as other guests are offered at that time in respect of the original monies paid.
