Discover some of the delectable dishes you can try at our Select Dining restaurants

P&O Cruises passengers at one of our Select Dining restaurants

We believe that dining at sea should be an event every day, and all of our ships boast a fantastic and varied choice of cafés and restaurants to suit your every mood. Recently, we’ve made a few changes to our Select Dining eateries in order to bring your favourite dining experiences to our entire fleet. Select Dining (as opposed to Club and Freedom Dining in our main dining rooms) is a chance to try something a bit different – perhaps when you’re celebrating a special evening on board or just fancy spicing things up with a change of scene. These restaurants provide those ‘This is the life’ dining experiences, with unique and innovative menus that will challenge your culinary expectations. And in the case of Sindhu, it’s also a chance to sample mouthwatering menus where Indian cuisine is showcased in spectacular style. Depending on the size of your ship, you’ll have a choice of several Select Dining restaurants, which you can enjoy for just a small cover charge.

Sindhu

Here, guests can experience fine modern Indian cuisine with a British twist, with tantalising dishes such as chicken tikka pie with wild berry compote and native lobster fricassée with rice pancakes. The menu is inspired by India combined with a passion for British ingredients, so you’ll find Gressingham duck from the Red Tractor-assured farms in East Anglia in a fragrant Punjabi masala and pan-seared cod fillet flavoured with South Indian spices, as well as the classic rogan josh and chicken korma. And to finish off, Sindhu offers an extraordinary assortment of innovative deserts, such as a five-spiced chocolate pudding with blood orange sorbet, yoghurt cheesecake with hibiscus tea jelly and deconstructed mango, coconut and passion fruit sorbet.

The Epicurean

Here, guests can expect a gastronomic journey to the very heart of fine dining. Without being too fussy, the dishes use the finest ingredients enhanced by a little molecular gastronomy and techniques, such as precision temperature cooking, freeze-drying and fuming flasks of liquid nitrogen. You could start with aged English beef carpaccio with quail’s egg, radish and potato ruffles and a wasabi dressing, or try a mouthwatering cocktail of white crab, langoustine and caviar with a pea and chervil custard and a cucumber mojito. Moving on to mains, why not try butter-poached lobster tail served together with a lean pavé of boneless beef, sour cream crushed new potatoes and a melting cheese lollipop, or share a classic chateaubriand of prime English beef for two. Highlights from the dessert menu include dark chocolate Jaffa cake and black forest popping candy torte served with a shot of New York cream soda. Many of the Epicurean’s dishes are skillfully prepared tableside, such as blazing Crêpe Suzette Flambé, which adds a welcome element of theatrical performance to the occasion.

Beach House

Fun and informal, this is a great option for families with its casual menu of American-style grills and seafood. Why not share some nachos and a serving of coconut crumb tiger prawns before getting stuck into a sizzler plate, speciality kebab, rib combo or rich mature cheddar macaroni cheese with truffle oil, smokey baked beans and kimchi slaw. You can even cook your own 6oz fillet of beef on lava rock just the way you like it. If you still have room, finish off with a classic baked white chocolate New York cheesecake or a cinnamon spiced blueberry doughnut with marshmallow crème.
