Examples of the kinds of websites that may be blocked are adult content, alcohol and tobacco, anonymisers, drug abuse, file sharing, malware, nudity, online gambling, streaming hacking, phishing, proxy avoidance and violent content.In addition, some internet services such as Wi-Fi (VoIP) calling, remote desktop connections and VPNs may not be available. Some email applications will not work without significant alterations to providers account or device settings. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide support for those alterations. Most email providers offer web-based access, and these will work in most cases. Some websites may require authentication via a mobile phone if you’re using an unknown connection (e.g., Hotmail) or have set up two-factor authentication on your account.

Are there any limitations to browsing on the ESSENTIAL and ULTIMATE packages?

1. Download videos ahead of sailing.&nbsp;If you plan on watching a series, or other video content while on board, we recommend downloading it onto your device prior to sailing. Our Essential plan does not include video streaming, and we cannot guarantee streaming speeds during peak hours. &nbsp;2. Download apps before embarking. We strongly recommend you download any apps at home prior to sailing and avoid updating your device on our ships. Also, please note that iCloud will not work on board.

Are there any top tips for using the Wi-Fi on board?

You may use multiple devices on one package but can only use a single device at any one time. If you wish to use multiple devices simultaneously, you will need to buy additional packages that are available at a discounted rate.

Can I connect multiple devices to the on board Wi-Fi?

Yes; you can purchase the cruise package at any point during the cruise, meaning you will purchase internet for all remaining days of your holiday at the reduced rate. On our ships, you can connect to the Wi-Fi with almost any internet-enabled device. &nbsp;1. Make sure the Wi-Fi on your device is switched on, then select&nbsp;'Guest Wi-Fi' from the list of available networks. &nbsp;2. Once you're connected, open your internet browser and visit "&nbsp;internet.pocruises.com", which is the P&amp;O Cruises Guest Wi-Fi login page. &nbsp;3. If you’re connecting to the Wi-Fi for the first time, you’ll need to click Register, then enter some personal details, including a memorable username and a 4-digit PIN. &nbsp;4. The Guest Wi-Fi on board your cruise utilises internet signals that are wirelessly transmitted thousands of miles via a satellite to and from your ship, wherever it is in the world. This technology does not come without a cost, but we do our best to keep our prices affordable, so our guests can enjoy a seamless internet access while on board.Due to the nature of the satellite transmission, the Wi-Fi may sometimes be slower at sea when compared to terrestrial connectivity. Geographical location, weather and the number of users using the system can have an impact on connectivity speed.

How is satellite internet different from internet at home?

The Essential package&nbsp;is £12 per day with a cruise plan OR £18 per day. This is the straightforward option that offers you all your satellite internet essentials. Will I be able to use my internet package when I am ashore?

No; you will not be charged by your phone company for connecting to our Wi-Fi. However, it is your responsibility to make sure that you are not using the mobile signal or data from your service provider. Often, your mobile phone provider will text you if you are on ‘roaming’ to alert you of fees you may incur.You can turn off the mobile data service by going into your device settings and turning on airplane mode. Depending on your device, airplane mode may initially shut down your Wi-Fi connection when turned on, but you should be able to turn Wi-Fi back on separately (look for the airplane and Wi-Fi signals showing together). P&amp;O Cruises is not responsible for charges incurred via your mobile phone service provider.
