Make a summer school holiday escape to the Iberian Peninsula

How better to spend a summer family holiday than dipping your toes into the many delights of France, Spain and Guernsey? There’ll be history aplenty. Beaches galore. Lots of café lifestyle. Plenty of time (and temptation) to shop. And hours and hours dedicated only to fun and relaxation. Could there be a happier holiday mix?

Your first call is Cherbourg where the rich flavours of Normandy take centre stage. Next stop, charming La Coruña, a small Spanish town that has something for everyone - beach life, aquarium, designer shopping and ancient history.

In Santander expect excellent shopping, a vibrant dining and drinking scene and cultural attractions, including the gothic cathedral and Magdalena Palace. The city is surrounded by 11 beautiful sandy beaches, perfect for sun worshipers and water sports enthusiasts.

Your last port of call is delightful St Peter Port. Why not explore the Ruettes – tranquil, quiet lanes that are dedicated to walkers, cyclists and horse riders, or wander round the intriguing military museum, housed in what was once an underground bunker for storing German U-boat fuel. When you’ve finished sightseeing, do leave time for duty-free shopping and some local Guernsey ice cream.
