Drift in a traditional dhow up Musandam's longest fjord – the area is known as the Norway of Arabia for its dramatic coastal landscape. Take in the creamy white limestone cliffs, crystal clear waters and remote fishing villages. Keep an eye out for dolphins, often spotted frolicking in the fjord. Cruise to Telegraph Island, where the British laid the first telegraph cable in 1864, making the tiny outpost a crucial communications hub. Abandoned in the 1870s it remains deserted with only crumbling ruins to be seen. With the dhow at anchor, sit back and enjoy the scenery or take a refreshing dip in the sea.
