Lake District Steam Train and Mountains

Leaving the port behind, you’ll embark on a wonderfully scenic ride through the gorgeous settings that surround Aarhus. Arriving in the Lake Highlands and the quaint town of Bryrup, you’ll board your vintage steam train. Then sit back and revel in a journey from a bygone era as you steam through more stunning scenery, brimming with enchanting forests and endless fields of green. Your voyage will take you to the tiny village of Vrads and back again, with a stop at Himmelbjerget – The Mountain of Heaven – one of Denmark’s highest mountains. Topped by a 19^th-century red-brick tower, it rises to 500 feet above sea level and the views of the connecting lakes and hills are simply stunning.
