Explore Alesund’s beautiful, natural setting and gaze at its collection of striking architecture, on this leisurely drive in a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Sit back and enjoy a relaxing ride through Alesund’s lovely location. The city was built on several islands that stretch out into the sea, and the busy town is the largest on Norway’s northwest coast.
Alesund was mostly destroyed by fire in 1904, but luckily for you, it was rebuilt in the architectural style of the time, art nouveau. The results are a wonderful collection of architecture, including the famous Jugend-style houses in the harbour area.
Heading through the suburbs will take you to the Mount Aksla viewpoint, for a photo stop. From there you will get spectacular, panoramic views of the archipelago, beautiful town centre, and amazing snow-capped Sunnmøre Alps.

For guests own health and safety, regrettably mobility scooters cannot be accommodated on accessible vehicles. Should a guest require more than 1 companion seat, please see the on-board Shore Experience team for further availability.
The coach can only accommodate manual and electric wheelchairs with a maximum weight of 180kg (guest and wheelchair combined), maximum length of 1200mm and a maximum width of 700mm. Due to Norwegian law wheelchairs must have neck support to be permitted boarding the coach.
