Your scenic journey begins with a hike up to the city’s iconic viewpoint, Fjellstua. The ascent is 418 steps, but your efforts are more that rewarded with amazing panoramas of Ålesund and its island-dotted fjords. While on the summit, you can take a well-deserved break at the Fjellstua Café and enjoy a coffee and slice of traditional Kvæfjord cake, which is often called ‘the world's best cake’. Then head back down into the city for a guided walk through Ålesund’s charming streets, and soak up the peaceful atmosphere of this coastal gem as you wander around the unique Art Nouveau architecture.
