Enjoy a leisurely ride through winter landscapes to one of Norway’s most modern sights, the Northern Lights Cathedral. Constructed to represent the Aurora Borealis, it boasts an unusual spiral-shaped structure designed to reflect and deflect light. Then visit the oldest site in the city, quaint Alta Church, the only surviving building after the Germans burnt down the entire city, at the end of WW2. Take in picturesque views of the fjord and Altagård (a reconstructed historic building), cross the mighty Alta River, pass the UNESCO listed mountain of Lille Raipas and drive by the Alta Slate quarry.
