Essential information

The drive between Barcelona and Montserrat takes approximately 1½ hours each way. The rack-railway ride is approximately 15 minutes and can get very busy; on occasion you may be required to stand. This tour is not recommended for those suffering from vertigo. The road to the pier is bendy. There is approximately 2½ hours’ total walking during this tour including some uphill/downhill paths and steps into the Basilica. There is a 10 min walk (Approx 600 metres) to parking lot. Comfortable, flat walking shoes and a warm jacket are recommended.

Please note that the Monastery is closed for visits (as they are cloistered monks) and only Basilica can be visited. This year, 2025, marks the millennial anniversary of Montserrat, and various activities may impact the regular schedule. Due to a private event or special mass, access to the Basilica may be restricted. As a courtesy, ladies are requested to cover their shoulders when visiting the Basilica. Inside Montserrat no pictures are allowed. Guide will give explanations outside the Abby.

The products included in the tasting may be varied for different seasons.
