Be sure to bring your camera to capture the stunning views of Cannes and the Estérel Mountains as you sail across to your idyllic destination. There are no roads on Saint-Honorat Island, but don’t worry – its tiny size means you can walk everywhere.

Admire sights such as the remains of a Napoleonic cannonball oven and a World War II gun emplacement as your guide shows the way to Lérins Abbey. Find out about the lives of the small number of Cistercian monks who reside in this 11th-century monastery, and wander around the vineyards where they produce small batches of wine. It’s renowned for its excellent flavour, so why not have a taste? You’ll be offered two samples along with delicate puff pastries before taking some free time to explore further at your leisure.

The gift shop here sells wines, liqueurs and honey, which are also produced on the island – the perfect souvenir to take home.
