Villages and Views
A leisurely panoramic drive takes you along winding country roads and through picturesque villages, towards the Haute-Balagne coast, once the most fertile region of Corsica.
You’ll journey through the charming village of Lumio, where you’ll be treated to a wonderful view of the Romanesque church and the surrounding vineyards.
The hazy silhouette of the oldest inhabited village in Corsica, San Antonino, is visible from miles around, its cluster of orange buildings clinging to the granite hilltop like a bird’s nest. The Savelli, who ruled from the now-ruined castle, occupied San Antonino in the 9th century. The town’s circular layout of narrow, cobbled lanes, vaulted passageways and neat stone houses has changed little over the past 300 years. During a refreshment stop, you’ll have an opportunity to sample some delicious typical Corsican snacks.
Complete your tour with some free time in the pretty seaside town of Île Rousse, before travelling back to Calvi.
