Reaching a high point in the 17th century, the town is filled with a beguiling mix of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and Portuguese architecture. Visit Hoi An Museum, the Japanese covered bridge and Phuoc Kien Temple, devoted to the Goddess of the Sea. You’ll also enjoy free time at Hoi An's open market and stop in an ancient merchant house for a cup of green tea.

Essential information

There are approximately 3 hours of walking included. The drive between Chan May and Da Nang is approximately 1¾ hours and from Da Nang to Hoi An a further 45 minutes each way. Comfortable walking shoes and a lightweight waterproof jacket are recommended.
