The imperial city of Hue is an intriguing blend of sleek modern developments and charming historical features. Admire the unique architecture of Emperor Khai Dinh’s Tomb, which reflects the increasing influence of European style, and Tu Duc Tomb, which presents a picturesque fusion of landscaping and architecture. Take in the fantastic views at hilltop Dong Thuyen Pagoda and meet the resident nuns for some chanting and a meditation lesson in Vietnamese Buddhism. Then join them for a vegetarian lunch in the overwhelmingly peaceful atmosphere. After a scenic boat ride on the peaceful Perfume River, you’ll also meet Mr Vinh and his 19th-century Tha Om Garden House.

Essential information
This excursion will operate by coach, boat and on foot. Comfortable shoes are recommended. Bring a hat, sunscreen and water. Modest attire is required to enter religious monuments; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered. Hats and shoes have to be taken off when entering the pagoda's main hall.
