Trundling along to the mountain village of Kuranda, you’ll travel through 15 tunnels and traverse 40 bridges, with spectacular sheer cliff faces during most of your journey. Savour the flavours of the tropics with local delicacy tastings and accompanying beverages, as you soak up amazing views of the Coral Sea, and across Trinity Bay to Green Island, with Cairns surrounded by lush sugar plantations.
Enjoy some free time to explore Kuranda and make a photo stop at Barron Falls on your return.
Essential information
This excursion will operate by coach, train and on foot.This tour is not suitable for those with mobility issues or suffer from vertigo. Please note that the train is not air-conditioned and has bench style seating, and not all guests will be able to get a window seat. The journey on the train is one way only the other way will be on a coach. Therefore, we kindly request that guests change their seats on the train half way along the journey so that all guests have the opportunity of enjoying the beautiful scenery. Restrooms are only available at the station platform.
The order of the itinerary may be reversed. Please bring local currency for free time in Kuranda. Please also note the market stalls are open Wednesday to Sunday only.. There are two large steps to negotiate to board the train; guests must be able to board the train unassisted. The tour involves several tunnels.
