If you can bear to leave the magical beaches of Cairns behind, you’ll be rewarded with an amazing rainforest experience, starting in Kuranda, the Village in the Rainforest. Located 328 metres above sea level, and surrounded by world’s oldest living tropical rainforest, you’ll have some free time to soak up the tropical ambience. Then hop into a fully refurbished vintage carriage on the world-famous Kuranda Scenic Railway and head back down the mountain. Chugging along through Barron Gorge and over bridges with sheer cliff faces, you’ll get breath-taking views of the Coral Sea, Cairns and stunning Barron Falls.

Essential information
This tour is not suitable for those with mobility issues or suffer from vertigo. Please note that the train is not air-conditioned and has bench style seating, and not all guests will be able to get a window seat. The journey on the train is one way only the other way will be on a coach. Therefore, we kindly request that guests change their seats on the train half way along the journey so that all guests have the opportunity of enjoying the beautiful scenery. Restrooms are only available at the station platform.
The order of the itinerary may be reversed. Please bring local currency for free time in Kuranda. Please also note the market stalls are open Wednesday to Sunday only.
