No visit to Copenhagen is complete without seeing the city’s most famous symbol – The Little Mermaid. This statue was erected in 1913 to express gratitude to Hans Christian Andersen and his well-known fairy tales. Nearby you’ll see the celebrated Gefion Fountain, with the Nordic Goddess Gefion driving her team of bulls.
You’ll make a photo stop at the Opera House and the Operata Park before driving through the lively, waterfront Nyhavn area. See King’s Square, home to the Royal Theatre, embassies, and many fashionable shops.
You’ll also see the old fish market warehouses, which date back to medieval times, and Glyptotek, which was founded by Carl Jacobsen, the creator of Carlsberg beer. Then you’ll pass Tivoli Gardens (exterior view), one the world’s oldest theme parks, before catching a glimpse of the City Hall and Rosenborg Castle.
