Flavours of Cartagena, Old City Walk

Discover the superb gastronomy and rich, colourful history of Cartagena, on a guided walk through Cartagena’s historic city centre.

You’ll make a photo stop the magnificent San Felipe Fortress, which lies just outside the walled city of Cartagena. This imposing structure is considered the most outstanding feat of Spanish military engineering in the New World.

Your gastronomic experience will begin at a typical Cartagena bistro, with either a tropical fruit juice or a delicious Colombian coffee. Then your guided walk through the shady lanes, will take you past the city’s stunning architecture, before stopping at a restaurant for a mini lunch, featuring traditional Colombian-Caribbean dishes.

You’ll continue to Las Bóvedas, or The Vaults, which is a lively shopping area built into arcaded spaces once used as munition vaults and prison cells. Here you’ll savour the last course of your gourmand experience – a decadent, sweet dessert made from coconut and sugarcane.

Afterwards, you’ll have some free time in Las Bóvedas with a chance to climb atop the old city walls, before returning to your ship.
