Enjoy a scenic ride to Luperon Village, home to La Isabela. Founded by Christopher Columbus in 1493, it was the first European settlement in the Americas. Visit the Gregorio Luperon statue, and take a leisurely walk around the park and little church. Pop into the local museum to see how the native Taino people lived. Check out their tools for hunting and fishing, and explore replica huts and typical crops. Then stroll around the historic La Isabela remains and find the first church where mass was held in the New World. Afterwards, enjoy a tasty lunch.
