Gaze out at the scenes of vertical mountainsides and plunging canyons as you drive along the spectacular road weaving through the narrow Måbødalen Valley. Take in the sheer scale of the Hardanger Mountain Plateau – Northern Europe’s largest, stretching across three Norwegian counties and part of the country’s biggest national park – and admire the rich flora and fauna here.
The area around Vøringsfossen Waterfall is where east meets west and Hardanger becomes Måbødalen. From the viewing platform you’ll have an unrivalled view of the suitably dramatic vistas. Allow yourself to be hypnotised by the raging waters that leap off the edge of the hillside and plummet almost 600 feet before smashing into the valley below.
