Breath-taking scenery and tropical treasures abound, as you head into the inland’s interior, to the L'Habitation Belfort banana plantation. Hop onto an open tram and cruise around the plantation to discover the entire journey of the humble banana from field to your local supermarket. You’ll see the farmhands’ quarters, explore the pretty grounds and sample the delicious produce. At the famous Clément Plantation House, you’ll find a historic distillery, an open-air contemporary-art gallery and an awesome 16-acre botanical garden. Oozing cultural heritage, you’ll learn all about the distillery’s history, before sampling a rum and sugar cane juice.

There is approximately 1½ hours of walking on this tour. There are approximately 70 steps at the rum distillery and 20 steps inside Clement Plantation House. Local currency or a credit card will be required for purchases.
