Relax and ride one of the most scenic railways in the world.
Depart from Flåm station and soak up the vistas of craggy cliff faces, emerald hillsides and shimmering lakes as you travel along the famous track – which climbs 2,800 feet into the mountains over a distance of just 12.5 miles. You’ll enjoy so many photo opportunities as the train slows at key sections of the journey and at the Kjosfossen waterfall you’ll have the chance to hop off and watch the raging waters plunge 300 feet into the rocks below.
When the train reaches the highest of the four levels which allow it to ascend such steep terrain, you’ll be able to gaze down at the three lower levels. And when you arrive at the loftiest station, Mydral, it’ll be time to take in all those views again as you descend back down to the valley floor.

Essential information
The walk to Flåm station is approximately 300 metres and some standing is required prior to boarding the train. There are a few steep steps to embark the train and the journey is approximately 60 minutes each way. Seats are not assigned and are on a first come first serve basis so it is not guaranteed that groups will be sat together. There is a limited taped commentary on the train. This tour involves several tunnels. The train stops at Myrdal for 5-10 minutes before the return journey; as soon as it is ready it will depart therefore guests are requested to remain on the train. There is limited storage space on the train for foldable wheelchairs and push chairs. All guests must be able to negotiate the steps to board the train.
