At Pico dos Barcelos Viewpoint, admire stunning panoramas across the sweeping Funchal Bay, the city area and out to the Desertas Islands. Then head to Pico do Serrado to photograph the vistas of Madeira’s highest peaks and the remote village of Curral das Freiras – once a nuns’ haven from pirate raids.

There are some cobblestones and steps at the viewpoints, though much of the view can also be seen from the coach. Please note some walking is involved at the viewpoints and refreshment venue. This excursion involves travelling around hairpin bends with steep slopes, which may affect those who suffer from vertigo. Please note that visibility from all scenic outlooks is weather dependent and therefore cannot be guaranteed.
