"Grand Etang Lake is an extinct volcano of approximately 20 feet deep, located at the center of Grenada at 1,800 feet (550 m) above sea level. Head up to the Fort Frederick Historical Site, which sits on a ridge 244 metres above sea level. Explore the large underground cisterns and take in amazing views of horseshoe-shaped Fort George Harbour. Continuing up hill, through a string of villages, you’ll reach Grand Etang Lake. Nestled in an extinct volcano, at 530 metres, it’s a great place for a short break in the cool surroundings. Then visit Carlton Cocoa Station and learn how delicious local cocoa is processed, before being shipped to European chocolate-making countries. Riding down the peaceful east coast, enjoy a tasty lunch at East 95 in Crochu.
