Head up to the Fort Frederick Historical Site, which sits on a ridge 244 metres above sea level. Explore the large underground cisterns and take in amazing views of horseshoe-shaped Fort George Harbour. Continuing up hill, through a string of villages, you’ll reach Grand Etang Lake. Nestled in an extinct volcano, at 530 metres, it’s a great place for a short break in the cool surroundings. Then visit Carlton Cocoa Station and learn how delicious local cocoa is processed, before being shipped to European chocolate-making countries. Riding down the peaceful east coast, enjoy a tasty lunch at East 95 in Crochu.
