Experience Details*
Garden lovers: you’re invited to explore the tropical wonders of ‘Grenada’s most famous garden’ – Sunnyside.
With a dramatic hilly setting overlooking the Caribbean coastline, Sunnyside is the creation of Mrs Jean Renwick. Stroll through five enchanting acres of exotic planting. Smell the heady fragrance of tropical flowers. Marvel at the eye-catching colours. The unique gardens are both classical and colonial, with 150-year-old mahogany trees and a variety of palms. Sunnyside’s fame has certainly reached the UK, with the garden featuring in the Telegraph and on Channel 4.
Spot intriguing cycads, zoysia grass from Japan, agave and silver mangrove as you wander. You might even see tortoises, lizards and parrots among the foliage. Let the paths lead you to the ‘rainforest’ area and the ornamental pond, filled with koi carp. Then relax on the veranda of the charming white-painted house, sip a refreshing drink and feast your eyes on all the flowers.
