The drive to Percé will take you along the panoramic coastal road of Gaspé Bay. Upon arrival, you’ll take a lovely boat ride to Bonaventure Island and enjoy some free time in Percé town.
Also referred to as ‘Gannet Island’, Bonaventure has been a migratory bird sanctuary since 1919 and attracts large colonies of Northern Gannets. As you cruise by the island, the sights, sounds and smells will give you an indication of the sheer number of Gannets on the island. Keep an eye out for flocks engaging in bouts of plunge diving for fish. En route you can admire Percé Rock, one of the most photographed and painted landmarks in the area.
Your free time in Percé town can be spent browsing the craft shops and art galleries and perhaps purchase a snack, lunch or refreshment.
Leaving the charm of Percé behind, sit back and enjoy the scenery once more as you take the return drive back to the ship.

Essential information
The shops in Percé are seasonal and some may be closed during your visit. The drive to Percé is around 1¼ hours each way. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of Gaspé's charm; transportation may be more basic than in other ports (school bus or similar). There is a short walk from the coach parking area to the boat pier. Passengers do not disembark at Bonaventure Island; it is a cruise by only. The boat ride is around 1 hour. Gannet sightings cannot always be guaranteed. The area is prone to fog which may also affect viewing. It is recommended to take a jumper or a jacket for the boat ride. There are a set of fairly steep steps to reach the upper deck of the boat. Flat, non-slip shoes are essential. Please remember local currency for purchases.
