Embark on a drive to Monemvasia, one of Greece’s best kept secrets. The medieval town was carved from a sea rock and is only accessible by a single manmade causeway.
Upon arrival, step aboard the local municipality shuttle bus for a short ride to the Monemvasia fortress. Follow your guide along the cobblestone main street to the very heart of the citadel. View the 13th century cathedral, and across the square the 16th century Turkish Mosque, visit the Archaeological Museum.
To round off your visit there will be some free time to browse the boutiques and perhaps purchase a drink or a snack from one of the local cafés. You’ll return by shuttle to re-join the coach for the drive back to Gythion.
