Relax on the scenic ride out of Haugesund and pause in Ferkingstad to visit the Fishermen’s Memorial. The stone cross and bell tower here pay tribute to locals who’ve lost their lives in American waters.
On the southern tip of Karmøy island lies the capital Skudeneshavn – a postcard-perfect town dating back to the early 19th century. Picture the chaotic scenes during the booming days of herring fishing as your guide shows the way between the white-painted wooden buildings on a guided walk. Enjoy some free time in this small, enchanting town, where the original exteriors of many of the houses help to retain the charm of this old town.
A leisurely drive along the east side of the island will take you back to Haugesund City Centre, where you'll have some time to take some pictures of the most famous sights in the city including King Harald's monument.
