Enjoy a leisurely drive through the Welsh countryside to Caernarfon, where you’ll hop aboard the Welsh Highland Railway in the shadow of the castle walls. Then head off your scenic journey into incredible landscapes brimming with lush valleys, towering mountains and tumbling waterfalls. Running through Snowdonia National Park, this historical narrow-gauge heritage railway climbs from sea level to almost 200 metres, in the foothills of Snowdon, before zig-zagging down the steep gradient into Beddgelert. After disembarking you’ll drive back to Caernarfon to spend some free time exploring on your own, or stopping for some lunch, before driving back to Holyhead.
