Enjoy a leisurely ride through the history-rich countryside around Ephesus, and uncover many of its fascinating ancient sights.
Sit back in your comfy motorcoach and soak up the picturesque countryside around Kusadasi, which is dotted with vineyards, olive orchards and cotton plantations. When you reach the Exterior Gate of Ephesus, you’ll get great views of the Odeon, while your guide tells you all about these magnificent excavations.
Then it’s just a short ride into the hills to the Statue of Virgin Mary, where you’ll get fantastic, panoramic views over the ancient site of Ephesus. Your scenic journey will continue around the rich, historical town of Selcuk, where you’ll see Selcuk Castle, the 14th-century Isa Bey Mosque, St John’s Basilica, and the ruins of the Temple of Artemis – one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world.
Afterwards, you’ll call into a traditional weaving village for some refreshments and to watch the local artisans demonstrate their age-old processes of dying, spinning and weaving beautiful Turkish carpets.
