Explore the most magnificent palace ever built – Versailles – and enjoy its immaculate gardens with a delicious French lunch.
Sit back and soak up the scenery along the motorway to Versailles. During your journey you’ll hear all about the region’s history and get an introduction to the palace and its gardens.
When you reach the Palace of Versailles you’ll be astounded by its sheer size, grandiose furnishings and opulent riches. It’s one of the most beautiful achievements of 18th-century French art, and it’s been a UNESCO site for over 30 years.
Your fascinating guided tour includes the king's state apartments, the Hercules Drawing Room and the lavish Hall of Mirrors. Then you’ll walk across the stunning gardens to a restaurant located within Versailles Park for a sumptuous French meal.
Afterwards, you’ll have some free time to explore the lush, formal gardens with its bronze statues, vases and sculpted fountains. You’ll also have some time to visit the palace gift shop before returning to your ship.
Essential information
The journey to and from Versailles is via the Normandy motorway and takes around 2h45 each way. This is a high activity tour due to the extensive walking involved (approximmately 3h30 in total), guests are recommended to wear comfortable shoes. Please note the water fountains in the Versailles Gardens are not in operation in the winter time.
