Experience Details*
Be whisked into the capital to explore historic streets and shop till you drop in two different areas.
The old town of Vegueta dates back to the late 15th century and is the ‘birthplace’ of Las Palmas. Stroll through the cobbled lanes and squares and you might happen upon Casa de Colón (Christopher Columbus’ house), the stunning twin-towered Santa Ana cathedral or the unassuming but fascinating Canarian Museum. In Triana, you’ll find one of Spain’s best open-air shopping districts, with stores selling everything from fashion to electronics.
On Mesa y López Avenue, your biggest dilemma will be which shop to visit first. This wide street is shaded by trees and lined with countless boutiques. The famous department store, El Corte Inglés, is so big it’s split between two buildings. Duck inside if you want to browse local brands and those from around the world.
