Journey back in time on a stroll through the historical, Andalusian town of Antequera and visit the stunning limestone landscapes of the El Torcal nature park.
Sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery on your panoramic ride to charming Antequera. As you approach the town, you’ll see the looming towers of its great 14th-century Moorish fortress and its church spires. Your guided-walking tour through the city centre will take you back over 5,000 years and you’ll uncover its many secrets, beginning with the Bronze Age. Brimming with burial mounds and dolmens, you’ll find Roman baths, Gothic churches, renaissance fountains, baroque bell towers, and much more.
From there it’s only a short ride to the El Torcal nature park and its fascinating display of limestone formations. Wandering through this dramatic fantasy-like landscape, you’ll see some of its 1,000 caves and chasms, and samples of its prolific fossil record. The area is also covered with interesting flora, from Hawthorn and Mediterranean Holm Oak trees, to over 30 species of orchids. And this lush setting is teeming with wildlife, including Spanish ibex, foxes, griffon vultures and golden eagles.
