Experience Details*
Enjoy a captivating guided walk through the pages of history as you stroll around the expansive ramparts and striking architecture of this dazzling fortress city.
Your local guide will meet you at the pier and take you on a short walk to Valletta's Barrakka Lift. As the old wooden sign says, its 'the quickest way to the city’, and it will take you straight up into the Upper Barrakka Gardens. You’ll then be at the highest point of the 16th-century bastion walls that were built by the Knights of St John to protect the city. Needless to say, the views of the Three Cities and the Grand Harbour are simply spectacular.
As you continue into the beating heart of Valletta, your informative guide will bring the history of Malta’s charismatic capital to life. You’ll see the stunning 16th-century St John’s Co-Cathedral from the outside, and pass the austere Grand Master’s Palace and President’s Office. Then you’ll take the Barrakka Lift once again, down to the port to conclude your tour.
