While you’re getting under the skin of Nordfjordeid, why not get to know the world-famous local horses too? People come from all over the globe to see these magnificent animals in the ‘Mecca of the Fjord Horse’, but you only need to hop on a quick transfer from the village to the Norwegian Fjord Horse Centre.
Here, you’ll find out about this unique breed of horse that’s remained pure for 2,000 years due to its isolation on the west side of the Norwegian mountains. Admire the characteristic markings as your guide shares stories of Vikings riding their trusty steeds into battle, and pause for a coffee break during the experience.

If the transfer is not booked, guests will be responsible for making their own way to and from Nordfjordeid. The transfer to / from the Fjord Horse Centre takes approximately 15 minutes. The amount of walking required is at guest’s discretion.
