Connect with one of the world’s oldest pure horse breeds in Nordfjordeid. The Vikings rode them into battle and the Norwegian armed forces employed them – now’s your opportunity to ride one of these gentle giants and find out why people come from all over the globe to see these beautiful animals.
Even if you’re a beginner, you’ll soon get the hang of handling your well-trained horse thanks to the breed’s good-natured temperament. Follow your guides into the emerald Hjelmelandsdalen valley and up into the picturesque mountains. You’ll be in the saddle for around 2 – 2½ hours, giving you plenty of time to get to know your horse and appreciate the spectacular landscapes.
