Then head to Jardins do Palácio De Cristal (Crystal Palace Gardens) and explore this peaceful, green sanctuary. Nestled on a bluff overlooking the Douro River and the sea, the far-reaching views are magical. Roam the grounds with the peacocks, and discover the lakes, fountains, rose gardens, avenues of trees, and more. The palace was modelled on London’s Crystal Palace, but replaced in the 1950s with the Pavilhão Rosa Mota (Super Bock Arena), a domed cultural and sports arena.
