Sit back and soak up the striking scenery on a ride to mainland Malaysia via the 13.5-kilometre Penang Bridge. At Bukit Merah, a water theme park surrounded by a 7,000-acre lake, you’ll hop onto a boat and cruise out to Orang Utan Island. This 35-acre forested-island is a breeding sanctuary, as well as a rehabilitation and conservation facility for this endangered species. You’ll get up close and personal with the orangutans as you walk through a caged-in walkway, 100-metres long, while they are free climb, swing and feed in their natural habitat all around you. It’s an unforgettable experience!
