Receive a warm welcome at the family home of Emas, a local man and former university lecturer who decided in 1997 to go back to his roots in the countryside. On the edge of the forest, your host will explain how he and his family work with their livestock and you’ll have the chance to taste a delicious homemade snack.

Head to the small market town of Kretinga, home to Franciscan brothers and sisters, and

pay a visit to the Count Tiskevicius Estate Museum. Admire the beautiful wooden works of art and examples of the hand tools used in daily life until relatively recent times.

Back in Klaipeda, drive through the central streets, past the neo-Gothic post office to the Old Town. Stop off for a quick browse of the handicraft stalls and the amber market, and perhaps pick up a rustic souvenir.

Essential information

This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. There is approximately 2 hours of walking on this tour, some of which is over grassy and uneven terrain. There are many steps to negotiate at the Count’s Mansion Museum.
