Relax on a scenic drive across the stark Mosfellsheidi heath on the way to Thingvellir National Park. The dramatic landscape here evolves constantly thanks to the movement of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, which cause rifts when pulling the earth’s crust in different directions.
Witness the power of nature at the Gullfoss waterfall, where raging waters plunge 105 feet via two drops on the way along the Hvítá river. In the Geysir region, watch water shoot in the other direction as the Strokkur fountain geyser fires a 75-foot-high column of hot liquid into the sky.
During this experience, you’ll enjoy a buffet lunch of Icelandic dishes served with a glass of wine or beer and hot drinks at a local restaurant. You’ll also have the chance to take a look at the exhibition at the Hellisheidi Geothermal Power Plant, which offers insight into Iceland’s sustainable power industry.
