Take a journey back to Etruscan times and learn of the fascinating culture and burial rituals from the 6th to the 1st centuries BC.You’ll visit the Tarquinia Etruscan Necropolis, a village-style burial ground, featuring unique and fascinating tombs.
You’ll see the Palazzo Vitelleschi – an excellent example of early Renaissance architecture, whose Archaeological Museum houses the remains of the mysterious Etruscan population.
The Necropolis contains thousands of tombs organised in a city-like plan, with streets and small squares, many of which have not yet been explored. Enjoy the unusual panorama and hilltop views over the surrounding countryside.
After your visit to Tarquinia, you’ll have the opportunity to sample some of the wonderful local produce at a nearby venue.Savour the taste of the traditionally-produced wines, olive oil and bread. You can even purchase some of the tasty products and take a little piece of Italy home to enjoy.
