Take a relaxing ride on the St Kitts Scenic Railway line, which was built in the early 20th century to transport sugar cane from the fields to Basseterre. Chill out on the air-conditioned lower level or head up to enjoy the loftier view from the top deck. You’ll hear facts about the island’s colourful history as you chug along the spectacular northeast coast.
Sip soft drinks (or perhaps a rum punch or two!) from the bar in your carriage and enjoy local music as you gently wind through quiet farms and colourful villages. Then alight the train to board a chic catamaran, gliding by the southwest coast with a drink in hand. You’ll see sweeping views of the infamous Brimstone Hill Fortress and the quaint fishing villages and sugar plantations dotted on the shore as you cruise gracefully back to Basseterre.
