Your journey begins with a ride through the lively city of Castries. You’ll see the flamboyant, local food market, historic Roman Catholic Basilica and Derek Walcott city square – named after the island’s second Nobel Laureate.
You’ll make a photo stop at the Morne Fortune viewpoint, which provides stunning vistas of the island’s capital and its beautiful surrounds. You’ll also pass the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College – named after the island’s first Nobel Laureate.
Exploring peaceful back roads, you’ll see the more traditional side of the island’s homes and community lifestyle. Then suddenly, you’ll find yourself in the new urban setting of the northern coastline. It’s packed with modern homes perched on the hillsides, lively resorts and a world-class yachting marina.
You’ll circle the town of Gros-Islet and continue to Pigeon Island Causeway for the beautiful sights and sounds of the Caribbean Sea – the perfect end to this island sampler.
