On this 2.5-hour guided walk, you’ll join the buzzing atmosphere as parades roll by, streets fill with flags and music, and locals don traditional dress celebrating their rich heritage. Wander through the narrow picture-perfect lanes of the charming Old Town, where white wooden houses are covered with flowers. Then head to the famous Øvre Holmegate – the city’s ultra-colourful street where each home is a vibrant masterpiece. You’ll also pass the striking Stavanger Cathedral, adding a splash of culture to this joyful high-energy celebration.

Essential information
The terrain in Old Stavanger is a little uphill and over cobblestoned streets. Flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please note that entrance to the Valberg Tower is not included in the tour. The market may be closed on Sunday calls. There are no bathroom opportunities on this tour. The May 17th Celebration is loud.
