Board a riverboat to cruise the emerald-green waters of the Tapajós, one of the Amazon's major tributaries, before joining the world's largest river.
Here, you’ll experience the phenomenon of the two rivers meeting but not mixing, the blue of the Tapajós flowing alongside the muddy waters of the Amazon. Continue on to Maica Lake, its tranquil waters surrounded by igapó, flooded forests that are home to a variety of wildlife, from howler monkeys to hoatzin birds.
You’ll also have the chance to watch local fishermen give a demonstration of traditional catching methods, using nets, harpoons and lines.
